Q.U.B. ‘Management Taster Programme’

On Wednesday 27th January thirteen of Grosvenor’s Lower Sixth Business Studies students received an extremely worthwhile opportunity when they were invited to attend a ‘Management Taster Programme’ run by The School of Management at Queen's University.

The event attracted over 800 pupils in total, from various schools across the province, each of whom benefited from a series of talks by Shirley-Ann Hazlett, Head of QUB’s Management School, as well as a number of other guest speakers who talked about their own subjects as well as their personal experiences of Queen’s.

Following this the pupils had the chance to attend a selection of lectures, with pupils choosing two out of the six on offer, which were on: Accounting, Actuarial Science, Business Management, Economics, Finance and International Business with a Language, before taking in the pleasant surroundings of the University itself.

All of Grosvenor’s pupils in attendance found the event thoroughly worthwhile and definitely learnt a lot about the different courses available at Q.U.B., as well as the University itself.

Many thanks to GGS Head of Business Studies Mrs Hunter-Burns who organized Grosvenor’s attendance on the day, as well as fellow Business Studies teacher Miss McNee who accompanied the pupils to the event.
