Ryder Cup 2014

Congratulations to Grosvenor pupils and golf enthusiasts Andrew and Stuart Graham, both Lower Sixth, each of whom recently enjoyed the experience of a lifetime when they were selected to volunteer at the recent Ryder Cup, held at Gleneagles in Scotland.

The identical twins were selected from amongst 17000 initial applicants to work as merchandise assistants in the tented village at the Centenary Course, where they were required to work for five hours a day – leaving the remainder of the time free to enjoy the golf.

The boys, members of Holywood Golf Club, enjoyed cheering on their clubmate Rory McIlroy, as well as fellow Northern Irish player Graeme McDowell, with Stuart even receiving a high-five from Rory!  They were also present when Welshman Jamie Donaldson hit the winning shot to secure victory for Europe.

Congratulations to both boys on their selection to experience such an outstanding opportunity and we wish them the best of luck in their future golf-related endeavours.
