Scholastic Book Fair

Grosvenor’s literary enthusiasts were afforded the opportunity to view the latest fiction on offer when the ‘Scholastic Book Fair’ visited its Library during the week beginning Monday 1st October.

The Fair lasted for five days and offered over 200 titles for pupils and staff to purchase from a specially selected range of books.  Genres on offer included thriller, fantasy, comedy and non-fiction, all of which proved popular with over £500 worth of books being purchased during the week.

The event was an exciting introduction to the Library for the School’s new Form One pupils, many of whom were disappointed to see the fair leave and requested that it return again soon.

As a result of the initiative’s success the Library has now gained over £200 worth of commission in order to purchase new fiction – something that can only encourage pupils to utilize the library more in the future.

Many thanks to the School’s Librarian Mrs Heather Eakins who successfully organised and oversaw this most worthwhile event.
