Scripture Union Valentine’s Event
On the afternoon of Tuesday 9th February Grosvenor’s Scripture Union welcomed over one hundred pupils from forms One – Upper Sixth to the Sixth Form Common Room where it hosted its special ‘Shakes, Sweets and Stories of Real Love’ event, in connection with Valentine’s day.
The event consisted of love-themed games, quizzes and a real life testimony of God’s love from Rebekah Mitchel, a young lady who recently moved to Northern Ireland from Alabama, U.S.A. after marrying a native of the province. In addition Grosvenor’s own Mr Gibson also spoke to those in attendance, delivering a challenge to both experience God’s love for ourselves and to show love towards those around us.
Perhaps most importantly the event also featured refreshments, in the form of pancakes (made by members of the Sixth Form S.U. Committee) and milkshakes, while music was provided by Form Five pupil Sarah Myles on keyboard and vocals.
Many thanks to all who attended the event, as well as the Sixth Form S.U. committee, headed by Hannah Martin, whose organization helped to make the event so successful.
We look forward to reporting on further worthwhile S.U. events over the remainder of the year.
