SEELB ‘Outstanding Achievement’ Awards

Congratulations to Grosvenor Grammar School pupils Jamie McMullan and Neill Cushley, both Upper 6th, each of whom were recognized in the Youth category at this year’s South Eastern Education and Library Board ‘Outstanding Achievement Awards’, held on the evening of Friday 29th November at Lisburn’s ‘Lagan Valley Island Centre’.

Jamie and Neill’s joint receipt of the award comes in recognition of their work as junior leaders within ‘Killinchy Youth Organisation’, where they have worked with dedication to make a valuable contribution to its 8 – 11 year olds. To place this achievement in context, Jamie and Neill’s award was one of only six Outstanding Achievement awards issued on the night.

Jamie and Neill’s award serves as acclamation for the work which they have carried out in serving as role models to the young people under their care, demonstrating maturity in supporting the senior leaders within the organization and developing an excellent relationship with its members, all of which has come despite the demands of ‘A’ Level studies, holding down part-time jobs and extensive sporting commitments.

The boys have attended meetings of the organization every Wednesday evening as well as other nights when required, and even organised a recent sponsored walk to raise funds for the organization, to ensure that it continues to provide a valuable service for young people within its local community.

Well done to Jamie and Neill on their prestigious achievement which is richly deserved and reflects the hard work and dedication that they have demonstrated over the past year.
