Sentinus ‘Digital Makers’ Workshop

On Friday 7th April the School’s ICT department welcomed representatives from ‘Sentinus’ to the School where they staged a highly worthwhile ‘Digital Makers’ workshop, featuring the use of the Arduino Board and its applications.

The event involved a significant amount of coding and was held over two sessions; one aimed at Year 11s currently studying GCSE Computing, and the other for those Year 10s who have chosen to study it next year for GCSE.

Many thanks to Sentinus for running such a valuable initiative within the school, as well as Grosvenor’s Head of I.C.T. Mr Gartland who organised and oversaw the successful running of the event.

Sentinus, the home of STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) enhancement and enrichment activities for schools in Northern Ireland, provides a wide range of programmes designed to support the teaching and learning of these subjects, particularly within a real world context, and provides a range of Employability Skills activities for schools to support Learning for Life and Work within the Northern Ireland curriculum.

We look forward to welcoming Sentinus back to the school at some time in the near future.
