Shared Education Residential to Ganaway Activity Centre
On Thursday 23rd and Friday 24th March members of Grosvenor’s 9G form class participated in the latest event in a busy ‘Shared Education’ programme when they attended a residential at Ganaway Activity Centre.
The pupils, who attended along with their counterparts from 'Lagan College' and 'Our Lady and St. Patrick’s College, Knock', participated in a full day of activities, including high ropes, archery, a climbing wall, orienteering, a zip line and team challenge games on the Thursday, before the boys played football in the evening and the girls, and non-sporty boys, watched (the original and definitive version of) ‘Ghostbusters'.
On the Friday morning all in attendance enjoyed a cooked breakfast before heading off to the beach, prior to their return to Cameronian Drive.
In all the two day event, which took place against the backdrop of beautiful weather, proved extremely worthwhile, with the pupils commenting on the enjoyable and valuable nature of the initiative.
Many thanks to GGS teacher Mrs Lander who continues to co-ordinate the School’s involvement within the Shared Education initiative, as well as fellow staff members Mr Newell and Miss McKeown who were also present on the trip.
The next Shared Education workshop is due to take place on 5th April and will be provided by ‘MenSana’ – we look forward to reading more about it at the time.
