Ski Trip 2016 to New Hampshire

On Sunday 7th February Grosvenor’s enthusiastic ski contingent 2016, comprising forty pupils in Forms 1-4 as well as four members of staff, congregated at Belfast’s International Airport where they set off for a week of intrepid alpine adventure at their destination of Woodwards Resort in Lincoln, New Hampshire.

In these glorious surroundings the group spent two days skiing in Waterville Valley, as well as three days at Loon Mountain, while the evenings were spent participating in a variety of fun activities such as shopping, attending the ‘Funspot Arcade’, watching DVDs and, on the final night, the staging of a prestigious Awards Ceremony.

All forty of the GGS pupils present found the experience hugely rewarding as they all made great strides in terms of their skiing, and also benefitted from the wider social experiences of participating in the trip.

Well done to Louise McAnea, Form Four, who received the ‘Best Skier’ award at the end of the week, and huge thanks to staff members Mr Young, Mrs Caulfield and Mrs Black, as well as Mr Cowan - who was also the chief organizer and leader of the trip – without whose involvement such a worthwhile trip would not have been able to run.

Well done to all involved and we look forward to hearing of further sking successes on next year's trip!

Grosvenor's ski trip participants 2016 enjoy themselves on the slopes of New Hampshire during this year's stateside visit in February.
