Software Systems Development – Kainos Apprenticeship success!

Congratulations to Grosvenor Year Fourteen pupil Gordon Kelly, who was recently the recipient of an offer to participate in a prestigious apprenticeship with Kainos, one of Belfast's most successful software companies.

Software Systems Development A2 pupil Gordon was offered his place on the training scheme in light of the superb standard of his AS coursework from last year; he will work for Kainos for four days a week and spend one day at University in Jordanstown, working towards securing a computer science degree. Kainos will pay Gordon a wage, pay for his degree and also cover the cost of any resources that he requires for his course.

Gordon’s apprenticeship is the same scheme that former GGS pupil Michael Dunwoody was also invited to participate in last year – with only twenty places available from hundreds of applicants, both Gordan, this year, and Michael, last year, have performed superbly to receive such an outstanding opportunity in the face of fierce competition.

Well done to Gordon, as well as his SSD teacher Mr Gartland, on his hugely impressive achievement - all at Grosvenor wish him the best of luck during his apprenticeship with Kainos and beyond.
