Soroptimist Public Speaking Success

Congratulations to Grosvenor pupil Christina Cousins who achieved 3rd place in the Belfast Soroptimist Public Speaking Competition on the evening of Wednesday 28th November.

The event, held at The Pavilion, Stormont, saw participants given 4-6 minutes to deliver speeches on their chosen topics, with Christina, Lower 6th, choosing human trafficking as her subject.

The event saw five Grosvenor pupils compete in total, namely:  Alexandra McClune, Nicole Muirhead, Shanah Chauke and Eve McLelland, each of whom competed against 15 pupils from other schools including Victoria College, St Dominic's Grammar School and St Louise's Comprehensive College.

Christina's achievement is all the more impressive given that she was competing in her first ever public speaking competition.  Well done to Christina as well as the other four Grosvenor pupils who performed admirably on the night.

We look forward to hearing of continued Public Speaking - related successes from Grosvenor pupils throughout the year.
