Sports Day 2014

Friday 6th June saw Grosvenor stage its annual Sports Day as athletes from Forms 1 – 4 took to the School’s athletics track where a number of notable performances were recorded.

Thankfully all participants were blessed with glorious weather and this resulted in some excellent times, distances and heights being recorded.  A number of impressive performances were recorded on the day, with Joss McConkey breaking the School record with a throw of 39.75 metres in the Form Three javelin and Ben Stevenson prevailing in a star-studded third form 100 metres boys’ event, containing all four members of the recent 4x100 metres Irish Schools’ winning Junior Boys’ team.

Well done to all of the competitors who performed so well at the event, as well as the School’s P.E. department, led on the day by Mr Andrew Gibson, whose meticulous organization helped to ensure that the competition ran smoothly and efficiently.

All at the School now wish its elite athletes the best of luck throughout the remainder of the season.
