Table Tennis – Junior British League and School Games successes

Congratulations to Grosvenor table tennis stars James Magrath, Lucy Craig, Lucy Johnston and Emma Kee, each of whom were recently selected to participate in The Junior British League, an Under 18 nationwide event which this year is being hosted in the Derby Arena and staged over two weekends, the first of which took place over Saturday 23rd and Sunday 24th September.

Particular success was enjoyed at the event by James Magrath, Year Thirteen, who was victorious in all ten of his matches, helping the Ulster boys team to joint first place in their division at present. James’ incredible effort was matched in the girls competition by Lucy Craig, Year Twelve, who was also victorious in all ten of her matches; ably supported by Lucy Johnston, Year Eleven, who prevailed in eight of her ten matches, as well as Emma Kee, Year Twelve, who won five matches in total, helping their team to outright first place in their division thus far.

In addition, further praise is extended to James and Lucy Craig, both of whom performed very credibly whilst representing Northern Ireland at the UK School Games, held in Loughborough earlier in September.

Well done to all four of Grosvenor’s quartet of talented table tennis titlists, each of whom deserve huge credit for their achievements throughout the season so far; the second half of this year’s Junior British League will take place in February 2018 and, following this, we hope that Ulster’s boys and girls teams continue to top their respective league tables – we look forward to following their fortunes closely in a few month’s time.
