‘Taken’ concert
On the afternoon of Friday 29th April Grosvenor welcomed music band ‘Taken’ to the William Moles Hall to deliver a highly worthwhile session to its second form pupils, relating to the important issue of Cyber Bullying.
The session, which lasted for one hour, began with the band performing a number of their hits, followed by an online safety and cyber bullying presentation which proved extremely engaging, with all of the pupils in the audience – almost 200 in total – finding its message extremely clear, hard-hitting and effective.
Following the presentation pupils also had the opportunity to ask questions during a Q&A before the band delighted its enthusiastic fans by signing autographs for the many pupils who waited behind at the end of the event.
As well as the entire second form year group, the event was also attended by the pupils of 1V, winners of the ‘Root Behaviour’ competition which Head of Year Miss McDowell ran across form one during November and December.
Many thanks to ‘Taken’ for freeing space in their busy schedule to accommodate a visit to GGS, as well as Senior Teacher Mrs Fox who was instrumental in organising the event.
We look forward to staging many similar events within Grosvenor in the near future.
