'Tasty Careers Ambassadors' visit

On Tuesday 22nd November Grosvenor’s Home Economics Department welcomed Geoff Lamb and Laura Hook, from ‘Tasty Careers Ambassadors’, to the school, where they delivered talks to Year Eleven H.E. students as well as Year Thirteen ‘Nutrition and Food Science’ pupils.

Geoff and Laura delivered an interesting and informative talk on the wide range of careers available within the food industry, as well as the various possible routes to accessing them. Laura, in particular, spoke on her career journey through Q.U.B., her placement year and, now, her graduate training programme as a Product Development Technologist with ‘Dale Farm’; she spoke informatively throughout and, as a result, all of the pupils got a real sense of the many potential areas open to them.

The students also particularly enjoyed tasting samples of Laura’s most recent development: high protein milk drinks! Many thanks to Laura and Geoff for taking the time to visit the school and speak to our pupils, as well as Home Economics teacher Mrs Caulfield who diligently organised the event: we look forward to reading about further H.E.-related events throughout the remainder of the year.
