Tom Purdon - ‘Radial Youth Sailing’ endeavors

Congratulations to Grosvenor pupil Tom Purdon, Upper Sixth, who will shortly be travelling to Weymouth in Dorset, England, where he is due to compete in an elite, nationwide competition Sailing competition against the best young sailors within his age-group from across the UK.

The event, which will see Tom compete alongside five other sailors from Northern Ireland, is designed to allow each competitor to gauge how well they have progressed during a period of vigorous training throughout the winter.

Tom, who is currently in his final year of ‘Radial Youth Sailing’, will be too old to compete at this level next year.  Nevertheless Tom continues to compete an the highest of levels and, following intensive winter training, is hoping to gain qualification to compete at the World Championships in Dublin in July, as well as the Youth European Championships in August,

All at Grosvenor wish Tom the best of luck as he looks to achieve this objective and we will be sure to keep you updated regarding his progress and successes over the coming months.
