Ulster Age Group and Youth Distance Swimming Championships 2013

Congratulations to a number of Grosvenor’s talented swimmers who enjoyed success at the annual Ulster Age Group and Youth Distance Swimming Championships 2013, held in Lisburn on Saturday 9th March.

In the event Form One pupil Victoria Catterson set 6 personal bests on her way to achieving 1 gold, 2 silver and 2 bronze medals in a range of events, while fellow first former Hannah James set 7 PBs on her way to a gold and a silver.  Elsewhere second form pupil Aston Edmond achieved a silver medal whilst setting 7 PBs, while Adam Hewitt (2 PBs) and Victoria Wylie (7 PBs) also enjoyed a productive day.

The success of Grosvenor’s swimmers at the event was just reward for the many hours of hard work that they have put in whilst training over the winter months.  For Victoria Catterson in particular the competition proved extremely worthwhile, with her performances helping her to achieve the qualifying times required to become a member of the Ulster Swimming Squad, which trained extensively over the Easter holidays at the brand new Aurora Swimming Complex in Bangor.

Well done once again to all of Grosvenor’s dedicated swimmers and we wish them continued success in the pool over the months and years to come.
