‘Ulster Chartered Accountants’ Annual Charity Lunch’ 2016

On Friday 9th December the School’s talented String Quintet, comprising Thomas Parke, Sarah Myles, Anna Stanfield, Lucy Hamilton and Tyler Smyth, received a rare and privileged opportunity when they were invited to the Europa Hotel for their annual performance at the highly prestigious ‘Ulster Chartered Accountants’ Annual Charity Lunch’, featuring guests from the banking world across Northern Ireland and further afield.

The pupils were positioned in front of The Europa’s grand Christmas tree, set right in the heart of the mingling guests, and began playing shortly before their arrival. The quintet, who were accompanied to the event by GGS Music teacher Mr Arnold, performed a range of Christmas Carols which were extremely positively received by all in attendance.

This year's event was held in aid of 'Friends of the Cancer Centre' and signalled a great end to 2016 for the quintet; we hope that 2017 proves just as successful for them.
