Ulster Schools' Junior Golf Championships

On Monday 15th June Grosvenor’s Junior golf team took part in the Ulster Schools’ Junior Golf Championship 2015, held in Bangor. The GGS team comprised Glenn McCreery (playing off a handicap of 7), Sam Tougher (13), Nathan Moffett (20) and Jack McCague (27).

During a day of intense competition the boys teed off in separate three balls, along with competitors from Bangor Academy and Campbell College. All participants performed admirably, with Glenn McCreery posting an excellent score of 38 points, Sam backing this up with a solid 32points, and both Nathan and Jack posting scores of 30points a-piece. These were all excellent scores on what is a difficult course, with competitors under intense pressure to perform.

The boys all thoroughly enjoyed their rounds on a course they don't get the chance to play often, and were unfortunate to finish outside of the top three team, with some excellent scores posted from some of the other competing schools. Many thanks also to Mr Maclaine who accompanied the boys to the event.
