Under 18 Girls’ Rugby Interprovincial Championships

Congratulations to Grosvenor pupil Erin Caughey, Upper Sixth, who was recently selected to captain the Ulster Under 18 Womens’ Rugby team at the 2014 Interprovincial Championships, held in Dublin during the end of October and beginning of November.

Out-half Erin, who plays her club rugby for Malone, was chosen to captain the team following a series of trials in Portadown over the summer and was also joined in the side by Form Five pupil and second-row forward Bethany McDowell, a member of the club at Queen’s University Belfast.

During the competition Erin captained the side to victories over Munster and Connaught, as well as a draw with Leinster, which eventually saw Ulster and Leinster share the Championship.

Well done to Erin and Bethany on their selection for this event and we wish them the best of luck throughout the remainder of the rugby season.
