Ulster Under 18 Girls’ Rugby selection

Congratulations to Grosvenor pupil Holly Brannigan, Year Thirteen, who was recently selected onto the Ulster U18 rugby squad for this year's prestigious Interprovincial series.

Holly gained selection to the squad after attending a screening session in June, during which the selectors, who had previously seen her playing for GGS at the Kingspan stadium in the Ulster Schools Tag Rugby final in April, were particularly impressed with her athleticism. Following this Holly was invited to a subsequent training session and, eventually, made the final cut for the interpros alongside former Grosvenor pupil Bethany McDowell - a memeber of last year's Year Fourteen.

Thus far Holly has participated in two matches for Ulster – a 37-12 victory over Connaught and a 22-5 defeat to Leinster.

The final match of the series, against Munster, will be played on Sunday 8th October; it is a must-win match for Ulster, with points scored determining the overall winner of the competition.

Well done to Holly on her selection to this elite squad and we wish her the best of luck for the final match of the competition against Munster.
