Victorious Victoria celebrates Swimming Success

Congratulations to Grosvenor pupil Victoria Catterson, Year Thirteen, who recently enjoyed success at the Irish National Swimming Championships, held in Dublin in April.

Swimming in a total of three events, Victoria recorded a personal best performance in each of her races to come away with a silver and a gold medal respectively, becoming Irish Champion in the 200metre freestyle event.

The Championships also served as a qualifying meet for various international galas which will be coming up this summer and, accordingly, Victoria has now secured selection to represent Ireland at the European Junior Championships in Helsinki, Finland at the start of July.

In addition, Victoria was a member of the Ulster team which achieved overall victory at the Irish Interprovincial Schools Championships on Sunday 15th April, retaining the trophy that they initially brought home the previous year.

All at Grosvenor are incredibly proud of Victoria’s latest achievements, which are no less than she deserves given her tireless dedication to training: we wish her the best of luck at the European Junior Championships, in July, and beyond.
