Year 14 Leavers’ Day

On Friday 10th May Grosvenor’s Year Fourteen pupils bade an official goodbye to the School as they embarked on their much-anticipated ‘Fun Day’ during their last full day in GGS, prior to the commencement of their A2 examinations.

The itinerary for the day involved a series of ‘Sports Day’ style games on one of the astroturf pitches at the back of the School, such as tug-of-war and a sack race, before the pupils took advantage of the many water balloons and water pistols kindly provided by the School as they engaged in a full-on, no-holds-barred water fight – always the highlight of the day!

Following a clean-up operation that was run with military precision, the pupils dried off before attending a goodbye lunch in the Common room, with sumptuous burgers provided by the outside catering company ‘Foodie Folk’, as well as crisps and juice made available by the catering staff in the School’s Dining Centre.

Following the conclusion of the lunch, the entire year group made its way to Lecture Dance for a final assembly, where pupils enjoyed a video presentation put together by Head of Senior School Mr Young, incorporating various photos from across the pupils’ seven years in Grosvenor, before listening to short speeches from Head of Year 14 Mrs Peel, Mr Young himself, Principal Dr Vasey and, last but not least, Head Boy and Head Girl James Magrath and Lucy Hamilton.

As is always the case on this day, the pupils departed with mixed feelings following the conclusion of the final assembly; happy having experienced such an enjoyable day, but sad that their time as pupils of the School was now coming to an end.

All at Grosvenor wish the ‘class of ‘19’ the best of luck in their A2 examinations over the coming weeks, as well as with whatever endeavours they choose to pursue over the years to come, and hope that they look back on their time as Grosvenor as truly the best days of their lives.
