Year Nine Ulster Inter-District Athletics Championships 2014

Congratulations to a number of Grosvenor’s second form athletes who were selected to compete as members of the County Down District team at the annual ‘Year Nine Ulster Inter-District Athletics Championships’, held at The Antrim Forum on Thursday 12th June.

Amongst standout performances on the day were those of Ben Gilmore, who formed part of the gold medal-winning County Down 4x100 metres relay team, as well as James McMaster who placed third in the boys’ shot.

Elsewhere Joel Wyatt was placed sixth in the boys’ sprint hurdles and, in the girls’ events, Louise McAnea finished 4th in the shot with a distance of 7.84 metres while Sophie Larmour and Kirsty Millen were each placed 6th - in the 100 metres and 75 metres hurdles respectively.

Well done to all of Grosvenor’s competitors on the day, accompanied to the event by Mr Andrew Gibson and Mrs Karen Kirk; in what has been a remarkable season for the School’s Athletics team they represented their County with distinction and deserve the best of luck throughout the remainder of the season.
