Year Nine Ulster Schools’ Athletics - Team Championships

Congratulations to Grosvenor’s Form Two Athletics team which achieved qualification for the final of the Year Nine Ulster Schools’ Team Championships by placing second in the semi-final stage of the competition, held at The Mary Peters Track on Monday 20th May.

Standout performances came from Nathan Chan whose distance of 5.04 metres helped him secure first place in the long jump, as well as the 4 x 100 metres relay team of Rory Elder, Ben Stevenson, Jonny Little and Nathan Chan who also achieved victory.

Elsewhere Ben Stevenson (100 metres), Jake Laverty (shot put) and Aston Edmond (800 metres) also gained valuable points for the team as they ensured participation in June’s final with a series of consistent performances.

Grosvenor’s Form Two athletes performed superbly to achieve overall victory in last year’s team competition and all at the School wish this year’s team the best of luck when they perform in the 2013 final at The Antrim Forum at the beginning of June.
