‘Young Peoples’ Advisory Board’ Selection

Congratulations to Grosvenor pupil Maya Finch, Form Three, who recently gained selection as a member of the prestigious UK-wide ‘Young Peoples’ Advisory Board’.

Maya’s selection to participate on the board came following the completion of a detailed application form, as well as an interview process run by the National Deaf Childrens’ Society (NDCS).

The Advisory Board, known informally as ‘YAB’, is due to meet four times over the next eighteen months, in Birmingham, Glasgow, Leeds and London, but in reality its members, of which there are eighteen in total, are in constant contact through email and other mediums.

The aim of the committee is to give other young deaf people the chance of a better life and future; it has already discussed the issue of ‘Healthy Minds, Healthy Body’, with many others due to be covered over the coming months.

Well done once again to Maya on her selection and we wish her the best of luck in her involvement with ‘YAB’ over the coming period.
