'Youth Environmental Leader Award'

On Tuesday 6th February students from the GGS Environment Committee welcomed Shauna Rice, from 'Ulster Wildlife', who launched the highly prestigious 'Youth Environmental Leader Award'. This is a new programme that will accredit the leadership skills and environmental work of pupils this year.

Shauna spoke to members of the committee regarding objectives that they hope to achieve during the current academic year – a litter pick at a nearby beach and a trip to learn about badgers, amongst other things. In addition, Shauna distributed leaflets containing inspirational ideas and information realting to environmental concerns.

Many thanks to Shauna for taking the time to visit the school and share so much worthwhile information, as well as all members of the committee whose commendable environmental-related work on behalf of GGS is much appreciated by everybody within the school community.
