YTC Mandarin Exam Success

Congratulations to a number of pupils in last year’s Form One who successfully completed their YCT Mandarin exam in June.

Chinese classes began for the entire year group in January with teacher Yongjin Zhu, while additional classes were also offered each Thursday after school.  In total seventeen of the eighteen participants successfully passed their exam, with Kara Purdy (2E) obtaining full marks.

The introduction of Mandarin classes for Form One comes following the School’s historic appointment as a Confucius Classroom Hub school at Parliament Buildings in October 2012, with Yongjin Zhu now delivering Mandarin to a number of local Primary Schools and other educational centres.  Thus far the initiative, coordinated by Grosvenor teachers Miss Emma Lunny and Mrs Gillian Burns, has proven extremely popular and we look forward to hearing of further successes relating to it in the near future.
