Congratulations to Grosvenor pupil Jenna Breen, Year Twelve, who achieved victory in the 300 metres at the prestigious Scottish Senior and Under 17 Indoor Championships, held at the Emirates Arena, Glasgow, over the weekend of Saturday 25th and Sunday 26th January 2020.

Having initially placed second in her heat, followed by victory in her semi-final, Jenna produced a fine performance in the final itself to lead the field home in an impressive time of 39.98 seconds – breaking the magic 40 second barrier and securing a coveted gold medal to bring back with her to Belfast in the process.

Jenna’s latest achievement comes after a string of track and field-related successes over the past couple of years; last summer, for example, she secured first place in the 300 metres at the Under 17 Scottish Outdoor Championships, as well as second, in the same event, at the Under 17 English Outdoor Championships, while, despite still being just sixteen years of age, she was selected to represent the Northern Ireland senior team at the prestigious Manchester International, held last August.

Well done to Jenna on her continued excellence – we look forward to following her further achievements over the remainder of the indoor season as well as throughout the impending outdoor season, during which she will hope to emulate the Ulster and Irish Schools’ victories that she achieved last year.

Well done Jenna!
