Northern Ireland Schools’ Acrobatic Gymnastics Championships success

Congratulations to a number of Grosvenor’s junior pupils who were recently successful in securing a silver medal at the Northern Ireland Schools’ Acrobatic Gymnastics Championships, held in Bangor earlier in the month.

The girls: Ellie Burgess (9S), Sarah Grattan (8N), Sarah Hetherington (10G), Cara Miller (10S), Freya Murray (10N) and Eve Stanfield (10S), performed superbly, having worked extremely hard in their own time in the weeks leading up to the competition, to defeat many more experienced teams which practice all year round within their respective Schools.

Competing within the Under 16 age group against over twenty other teams, the girls combined balances, moves and dances to put together an impressive routine, with the help of their coaches Dawn Miller and Shannon Armour from ‘Gymnastics Academy’ in Comber, where the girls’ rehearsals were held.

Well done to all of the girls for representing the School with such distinction at this prestigious event; we hope to hear of many more successes from them over the years to come.
