Junior Maths Challenge

Well done to all those pupils who recently participated in the Junior Maths Challenge, an International Competition run by the UK Mathematics Trust.

This year, the competition saw over 280,000 students from around the world work through 25 demanding questions, designed to test their problem-solving skills. Based on their performance, pupils then received a Bronze, Silver or Gold award in recognition of being in the top 50%, 25% or 8% of participants respectively.

Congratulations to those GGS pupils who received a certificate this year! In particular, special mentions are extended to Sam Young (Year 8), as well as Charlie Clegg, Vivi Liu and Abi Scott (all Year 9), each of whom received a Gold Award.

The top 4% of participants in the UK are then invited to take part in the Junior Kangaroo Competition in June - we wish Charlie and Vivi all the best in this follow-on competition.
