Ulster Hockey Under 15 Talent Development Programme

Congratulations to Grosvenor pupils Rory Hobbs, Finn McSorley, Adam Peel, Matthew Peel, James Shields and Alfie Stone, each of whom were recently selected to participate in the prestigious Ulster Hockey Under 15 Talent Development Programme.

Having been initially nominated by either the school or their club, the boys secured their places on the programme following an assessment session, held at Northern Ireland Civil Service Hockey Club, at the end of September.

Following this, the boys embarked on the first of twelve weekly training sessions on Sunday 10th October, and have so far completed six of these, prior to a winter break, with the sessions due to recommence in the new year and finish in late February 2022.

The programme, which is aimed at enhancing the ongoing development of leading young players within Ulster, links through to the programme at Under 16 level, and has provided our pupils with a fantastic opportunity to develop their skills under the direction of some of the province’s leading coaches.

Well done to Rory, Finn, Adam, Matthew, James and Alfie on their recent success, which is a reflection not only of their own talent and commitment, but of the nurturing that they have received as members of Grosvenor’s hockey teams over the past four years.
