Victoria Foster – Junior Eurovision and Dance World Cup success!

Well done to Grosvenor pupil Victoria Foster, Year 9, who was recently selected to represent Ireland at the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2021.

Victoria’s participation at the renowned event came following an initial audition, via Zoom, in March, when she provided a rendition of ‘She Used to be Mine’, from the musical ‘Waitress’, from which she was selected to attend a second audition in April, this time submitting a video of her singing ‘Castles’ by Freya Ridings.

Following this, Victoria was then informed of her further success and invited to attend the final, televised heats of the competition, held at Dublin’s RTE Studios on Saturday 1st May. There, as one of a number of acts representing Ireland, Victoria produced a rousing performance of ‘Shut Up and Dance’ by ‘Walk the Moon’, which is set to be broadcast on RTE this August – what an incredible experience! We will keep our fingers crossed for Victoria when it comes to final voting!

In addition, Victoria was also recently selected to participate at the prestigious ‘Dance World Cup’, which is due to be held in Birmingham, again, in August. As a member of the popular ‘Just Stage It’ Academy, based in Carryduff, Victoria submitted a video of her performing both a group and individual dance, from which she was chosen to participate in the solo, trio and group categories of this August’s event. Once again, we wish her the best of luck at this global competition.

A huge congratulations to Victoria on both of her outstanding achievements - having been blessed with such incredible talent, there is surely no limit to where her ability could take her in the future.
