Table Tennis - Ulster Open success

Congratulations to Ben Watson, Year 14, who recently enjoyed success at the Table Tennis Ulster Open, securing a bronze medal in the Under 21 category of the event.

Ben performed superbly in the competition, held at Lisburn Racquets Club, negotiating the group stages without losing a set before winning his quarter final match and, eventually, losing a closely fought semi-final 11-9. Following this narrowest of defeats, however, Ben soon picked himself up to prevail in the 3rd/4th place play-off match.

In addition, Ben performed commendably to place 6th in the Open Men’s Single event, comfortably topping his group before eventually losing out to Commonwealth Games player Paul McCreery in the quarter finals. 

Well done to Ben, who continues to go from strength to strength in the table tennis arena.
