Education Authority Chief Executive visits Grosvenor GS on A Level Results Day

Grosvenor Grammar School students are celebrating an impressive set of A Level results this morning, with the current headline figure of 82% of pupils achieving 3 A* to C grades.  A superb total of 33 students achieved 3 A grades or better, with 5 of those achieving 4 A grades or better.  Amongst the highest achievers are Kyle Bates (4A*), Daniel McAleese (3A*, 1A), Joshua Craig and Junior Close (both 1A*, 3A), Rory Doyle (3A*) and Daniel Murphy (4A).

Students, parents and staff enjoyed refreshments together and were joined by Mr Richard Pengelly, Chief Executive of the Education Authority, who took time out of his busy schedule to celebrate with the students.

Principal Dr Vasey was delighted for her students and everyone involved, saying:

“We congratulate all our students on achieving these very pleasing results.  As ever, my sincere thanks extend to the dedicated staff at Grosvenor and to our faithful parents for their unwavering support. We extend heartfelt good wishes to all our leavers as they depart for pastures new.”

EA Chief Executive Mr Pengelly spoke in relation to all young people receiving results across Northern Ireland, noting:

“I would like to congratulate all the students receiving their AS, A-level and Equivalent Qualifications. This is a very important day for schools and for all the young people reaching this milestone in their educational journey. They should be incredibly proud of their hard work, commitment and determination.

“Parents, teachers, staff, and principals should also be recognised for the amazing support, guidance and dedication that they provided for their students over the last year.

“For those young people who did not achieve the grades they had hoped for, I encourage them to speak to their teachers to discuss all the options available, including the many fantastic opportunities open in further education, training or employment. Also, there are many sources of support and guidance available to help pupils make the right choices.

“I wish each and every young person the very best, whichever pathway they choose for their future.”
