Athletics - Interprovincial Games 2024

Congratulations to Ben Sykes and Noah Harper, both Year 11, each of whom performed impressively at the annual Interprovincial Games, held in Santry, Dublin, at the weekend.

Following his 100 metres gold medal at the recent Irish Schools’ Championships, Ben performed superbly to claim gold in the 100 metres (11.00s), bronze in 200 metres (22.27s) and another gold in the 4x100 metres relay, the latter in a new championship record (42.27s).

In the 800 metres, meanwhile, Noah ran superbly to record a personal best (1 min 58.98s) and was unlucky to finish fourth, just outside the medals.

Given that both boys have another year to compete in the Intermediate age group, their impressive performances are not only worthy of celebration in their own right, but also bode extremely well for the future.
