‘Arkwright Engineering Scholarships’ Programme 2023

Congratulations to Leah Gamble, Year 13, who was recently selected onto the prestigious ‘Arkwright Engineering Scholarships’ programme 2023. Leah will now benefit from sponsorship from ‘The Technology Partnership’ – an independent technology company – over the next two years, as well as advice from an appointed mentor.

The prestigious programme, run by educational charity The Smallpeice Trust, is designed to inspire and nurture future leaders as they leave school and progress into the exiting world of engineering. Leah, who travelled to Edinburgh just before half-term to receive her accolade, is one of just seven successful applicants to the programme from Northern Ireland this year. This is an incredible feat, given that there were over 1400 initial applicants, from which over 600 progressed to the interview stage.

Impressively, Leah is the fourth Grosvenor pupil in as many years to benefit from an Arkwright Scholarship, following the successes of Olivia and Louisa Millar, in 2020, and Abby Corbett, in 2021.

Well done to Leah on her outstanding success – she deserves huge credit for such an impressive feat and will no doubt make the most of this fantastic opportunity over the next two years.
