Congratulations to Grosvenor’s ever-generous pupils who continued their charitable exploits by donating to both The Simon Community and The East Belfast Mission in the run-up to Christmas.

On Thursday 12th December the School’s annual Christmas Jumper day saw a plethora of students don festive pullovers for the day which, combined with the Dining Centre’s ever-sumptuous Christmas Dinner, helped to create an extremely positive, festive atmosphere around the School. In total, the day saw pupils raise an impressive £160 for The Simon Community, which provides valuable support for homeless people in the community.

In addition, December saw GGS pupils pull together to support The East Belfast Mission’s highly worthwhile Hamper Appeal, which aims to support one thousand local families through its annual ‘Neighbours in Need’ appeal. Pupils donated items such as tea, coffee, sugar, tinned food, biscuits, cereal and chocolate, filling two full car loads when representatives from EBM came to collect the items from School.

Well done to all of those Grosvenor pupils who donated so generously to each of these appeals, as well as its highly proactive Charity Committee, led by Mrs McClelland, which continues to work tirelessly throughout the year to support those in need.
