Football – Northern Ireland Under 18 selection
Congratulations to footballer Joshua Ness, Year 13, who recently represented Northern Ireland Under 18s in a hard-fought encounter versus Australia.
Midfielder Joshua, who captained Grosvenor’s Under 16s to victory in last season’s Belfast Cup, is currently captain of its First XI and plays his club football for Cliftonville F.C., made his debut during a narrow 3-1 defeat in a match held at Harland and Wolff’s stadium. In addition, Joshua has been selected as a member of the N.I. Under 18 squad which will travel to Jersey to participate in a series of friendly fixtures, before competing in the annual Centenary Shield, where the team will play a series of fixtures against teams from England, Scotland, Wales and the Republic of Ireland.
Well done to Joshua on his superb achievement – we look forward to following his fortunes in the upcoming Home Nations series and beyond.
