Football - Northern Ireland Women’s Under 19 Success!

Congratulations to Grosvenor footballer Grace McKimm, Year 14, who helped the Northern Ireland Women’s Under 19 Team to success in the recent Euro ’22 qualifiers, held over the Easter period.

In their decisive League B Group 1 encounter, against Azerbaijan, the team secured a narrow 1-0 victory, ensuring promotion to Group A for next year’s competition, having topped their group by the narrowest of margins – with a superior goal difference to their nearest rivals, Malta.

The team had previously drawn 1-1 with Malta before beating the Faroe Islands 5-0.

While many members of the team will be too old to represent N.I. when they step up to Group A, Grace - still only 18 – who plays either at left back or on the left of midfield, will have the opportunity to pit her skills against the elite during next year’s competition.

Very well done to Grace on her latest footballing success in what is already a most impressive career.
