Northern Ireland Schools’ Acrobatic Gymnastics Championships 2020

Grosvenor’s Under 19 gymnastics team which secured silver at the 2020 ‘Northern Ireland Schools’ Acrobatic Gymnastics Championships, held on Saturday 29th February.

Congratulations to a number of Grosvenor’s talented gymnasts who excelled at the ‘Northern Ireland Schools’ Acrobatic Gymnastics Championships’, held at Bangor’s Aurora Centre on Saturday 29th February.

At Under 14 level, Year Ten pupils Holly Beacom and Lucy Koorts performed superbly to secure silver in the pairs category whilst, in the team event, pupils Erin Jones, Nina Laing, Eva Wainwright, Katie Parker, Marissa McBride and Emily Nelson were unfortunate to finish just outside the medals, claiming a commendable fourth-place finish in a highly competitive age group.

At Under 19 level, Grosvenor’s team of Ellie Burgess, Sarah Hetherington, Helen Osborne, Cara Miller, Eve Stanfield and Freya Murray again performed impressively, emulating their second-place finish from last year and achieving an impressive silver medal in the process.

Well done to each of the aforementioned pupils on their efforts on the day, as well as Mrs Dawn Miller, mother of Cara, who has coached them with dedication and expertise throughout the season.
