Table Tennis – Nelson Cup ‘23

Congratulations to table tennis star Ben Watson, Year 13, who secured the School’s internal Nelson Cup following a series of hard-fought encounters at the end of April.

Ben, who has represented both Ulster and Ireland at age group level, defeated Naomi Humes in the quarter final of the competition, followed by Euan Hanna in the semis and, last of all, Junior Close in the final.

Every year Grosvenor’s talented table tennis players, who have combined to secure team victories at Ulster and Irish level over the past two years, participate in an internal competition to determine the winner of The Nelson Cup. This year’s victory represents the fourth consecutive time that talented Ben has walked away with the trophy.

Well done to Ben on his success, and also to the many GGS pupils who participated, helping to make this year’s competition such a high-quality, keenly-contested event.
