Congratulations to Grosvenor pupils Lauren McIver and Lois Turkington, both Year 11, each of whom have been selected to participate in German Pupil Courses in Germany this summer, run by the educational organisation ‘UK-German Connection’.

Despite the highly competitive nature of the application process, Lauren has been awarded a place on a two week course in July, in Bavaria, while Lois has been offered a place on a one week-long course.

As part of their participation in the programme, both pupils will be required to participate in an Ambassadors programme following the trip - carrying out a project in a local primary school, telling younger pupils about their experience in Germany and helping them to gain a better linguistic and cultural understanding.

In addition, pupils will be requested to complete a report, designed to share their learning experience and motivate others to take part in future courses, as well as deliver talks in assemblies regarding their experience.

Well done to both pupils on their successful application to this programme, as well as Grosvenor’s German department, led by Mrs Fiona Dorman and also including teachers Mrs Ashlea CashMr Alan Cowan and Ms Andrea Elwood, who have successfully nurtured their linguistic abilities throughout their time in the School.

We look forward to hearing more about Lois and Lauren’s progress in the new academic year.
