Ulster Schools’ Cross Country Championships

Congratulations to Grosvenor’s cross country athletes who performed commendably at the Ulster Schools’ Championships, held at Mallusk Playing Fields on Wednesday 8th February.

Amongst the twelve Grosvenor athletes who competed on the day, the standout performance was delivered by Year 10 pupil Noah Harper, who followed up his first place finish at the recent District Championships with a bronze medal in the Junior Boys’ category. In addition, an impressive performance was also delivered by Sam Ferguson, Year 9, who placed 9th in the Minor Boys’ event. For both Noah and Sam, their performances were enough to secure them qualification for the Irish Schools’ Championships in March.

In addition, the School was represented by Caitlin Shields (60th, Minor Girls’) and Erin Cross (31st, Senior Girls’), as well as the Junior Boys’ Team, of Noah Harper as well as Obi Symmington, Nathan Murray, Sam Maginnis, Calum Anderson, Dylan McCabe, Oliver Peoples and Joel Murray, who placed 8th in the overall team event.

Well done to all of Grosvenor’s representatives on the day – we now wish Noah and Sam the best of luck as they prepare for the Irish Championships, due to be held in Waterford on Saturday 11th March.
