Ulster Under 16 Hockey Squad selection

Congratulations to Grosvenor hockey player Ellie Burgess, Year 12, who recently secured selection onto the prestigious Ulster Under 16 Hockey Squad.

Midfielder Ellie, Year Twelve, who plays for Grosvenor’s 1st XI as well as Belfast Harlequins 2nd XI, secured her place in the squad following trials held at Wallace High School at the end of July, which saw 50 trialists whittled down to a final panel of 20.

Having participated as a member of Ulster Hockey’s Talent Development Programme over the previous two years, as well as a member of the Ulster Under 16 Development Squad more recently, Ellie’s selection is reward for her loyalty to these programmes, as well as her impressive, consistent performances of late.

Very well done to Ellie, who will now hope to represent the Ulster Under 16 XI when they compete in a series of interprovincial matches over the coming months – we wish her the best of luck for these encounters.
