Table Tennis Ireland Awards

Congratulations to Grosvenor’s Table Tennis Club whose exploits helped the School to secure the prestigious ‘School of the Year’ Award at the prestigious Table Tennis Ireland Awards, held in Dublin last Saturday.

The award comes at the end of a season during which its Under 19 Boys and Under 19 Girls Teams claimed gold at both the Ulster and Irish Schools’ Team Championships. In addition, its Under 15 Boys team claimed gold at the Ulsters and bronze at Irish level.

The award was received on the day by Mrs Rachael Murdock, Grosvenor’s Head of Girls’ P.E., alongside two of its star players, Ben Watson and Lily Parke.

In addition, Ben and Lily were both recognised for their outstanding individual performances throughout the season. In Ben’s case, he received the prestigious ‘International Performance Award’ as a member of the Irish Under 19 Boys team which placed second in the Oster Cup, Germany, at Easter. Lily, meanwhile, was recognised for her achievement in being ranked number 1 in Ireland at Under 15 level – a phenomenal feat.
