‘BBC School Soloist of the Year’

Congratulations to Amy Patton, Year 12, who has been selected to participate in the heats stage of the ‘BBC School Soloist of the Year’ 2022 competition for the second consecutive year.

Amy, who is a member of Grosvenor’s Senior Choir and String Quartet, recorded and submitted two vocals for her initial entry – ‘Home’, from ‘Beauty and the Beast’, as well as ‘Will You Go Lassie Go’ by the McPeake family. She was informed of her success by email and now looks forward to receiving more information from the BBC regarding the heats, which are due to take place between 6th and 10th December.

Amy, who has also participated as a member of the Belfast Philharmonic Youth Chamber Choir and the National Youth Choir of Northern Ireland (NYCNI), is currently working towards finalising which two musical scores that she will perform at this next stage of the competition.

Very well done to Amy on her latest success and we wish her the very best of luck as she prepares for the contest itself in December.
