On Wednesday 25th September Grosvenor’s Senior School welcomed the charitable organisation 'GoMAD' (Go Make a Difference) to its William Moles Hall, as its founder - former GGS pupil Mr Graham McClure - delivered an informative and engaging presentation to in excess of two hundred pupils from years thirteen and fourteen.

GoMAD is an independent charity that offers young people the chance to visit Tanzania, be involved with community development projects and make a difference to the lives of people who live there. Mr McClure has been travelling to Tanzania for over twenty years and founded the organisation in 2008.

The main content of this year’s talk related to the trip that ten of Grosvenor’s Year Fourteen pupils participated in this July, along with over forty pupils from other neighbouring schools.

Mr McClure also used his talk as an opportunity to promote next year’s trip which ‘GoMAD’ will again be running to Tanzania in July 2019 - once more inviting pupils from Grosvenor to attend and participate in such activities as: mixing with locals, attending an African Church service, exploring the local area, watching the sun go down over Lake Victoria and participating in a sensational Safari experience through the magnificent Serengeti.

This is an incredibly worthwhile opportunity; as a result of Mr McClure’s talk, yet more of the School’s senior pupils have expressed a strong interest in travelling to Tanzania next summer and are already in the early stages of planning fundraising events in order to make the dream a reality.

All at GGS would like to thank Mr McClure for giving such an engaging and informative presentation and we look forward to hearing more information about GoMAD in the future.
