Lloyd Andrews - All-Ireland Judo Championships: hat-trick success!
Congratulations to Grosvenor pupil Lloyd Andrews, Year Twelve, who excelled at the recent All-Ireland Judo Championships - held at the Sport Ireland Campus in Dublin on Saturday 7th December - achieving victory at the prestigious event for an incredible third year in a row.
Despite being the youngest competitor in his category at 15, Lloyd won all of his fights against some very good Irish and Northern Irish National Squad fighters to add to the titles that he won in the Decembers of both 2017 and 2018.
In addition, Lloyd’s recent performances at the Welsh Open in Cardiff and British Championships in Sheffield have now placed him third in the Great Britain Performance Pathway Cadet Identification rankings and 2020 looks very promising, with GB Squad selection for the Commonwealth Judo Championships in South Africa being the primary, realistic aim.
Very well done to Lloyd on his incredible judo-related achievements; all at Grosvenor wish him the best of luck as he continues his endeavors over the coming twelve months and look forward to hopefully cheering him on in South Africa next November.
