Congratulations to Grosvenor pupil Eva Wainwright, Year Ten, who performed superbly to secure gold at the recent Northern Ireland & Ulster Multi-Event Championships, held at the Mary Peters Track on Monday 26th August 2019.

Eva, representing City of Lisburn Athletics Club and competing in the Under 15 category, recorded times of 13.58 seconds in the Hurdles and 2 minutes 37 seconds in the 800 metres, as well as distances of 6.89 metres in the Shot, 4.81 metres in the Long Jump and 1.35 metres in the High Jump, to emerge victorious despite the extremely strong standard of competition present on the day.

Well done to Eva on her outstanding achievement – her first place finish is just the latest in a string of academic and sporting successes that she has enjoyed over the past year, during which time she has excelled on the hockey pitch, athletics track and cross country circuit, amongst others.

We look forward to reporting on many more of Eva’s successes over the remainder of her time in Grosvenor.
